In July 2020, my Dad had the first of several dizzy spells. At the start of September, a week after his 70th birthday, he collapsed and was rushed to hospital where scans revealed our worst nightmare…2 Stage 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) brain tumours. He was due to start radiotherapy in October but a further scan revealed it had spread too deep and this wouldn’t be effective, so they went with a 12 week course of Chemotherapy. In week 10, his review scan revealed it had made no difference and both tumours had actually grown…and on the 26th of January, 2021, at home surrounded by his closest family, we lost him to this cruel and awful disease.
